2008-2009 Course Offerings
Classes are held on Thursdays at 4 p.m. at Grace Lutheran. There is no fee for the class, but a freewill offering will be taken, since we have to pay for this thing somehow. A person may join at any time during the classes.
Christianity in the Celtic Tradition: Spirituality for Today
(Sept 18th–Nov 20th, 2008)
BEGINNING with contemplative prayer, each session will focus on the major aspects of Celtic Christianity as a model for faith in the 21st Century. The session will end at 5 p.m.
Christianity and the Transforming Power of Prayer
(Jan 22nd–Apr 30th, 2009)
EACH session will focus on the mystical theology of early church. If you desire more in your practice of prayer, this class will guide you. The session will end at 5:30 p.m.
The Instructor
The Rev. Dr. Jerry Doherty has been a priest since 1975 and served parishes for 32 years. He began as the UEC's chaplain in 2008. A Celtic scholar, he is the author of The Celtic Model of Ministry: The Reawakening of Community Spirituality.
